Brendan's Story

Raised on the tunes of Dave Matthews Band, Guns 'N' Roses, and Blues Traveler, Brendan grew up in a rich household of musical genres, hearing anything and everything around the house. Taking influence from all of this, he started performing live with Buzztop Studios at age 10 years old, first with drums, and later bass and guitar. He continued to play live via Buzztop until 2015, when we shifted to focused on drum line and musical theatre in high school. During this time, he also discovered the art of music production, mixing, and live audio. Once graduating high school, he studied at Washtenaw Community Community College as a Audio Engineer major for a semester, but that was ended abruptly due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. While spending this time at home, him and his family discovered Dark Horse Institute in Franklin, Tennessee. In August of 2020, he moved to the greater Nashville area  to chase his audio engineer dreams to attend Dark Horse Institute. After attending, he found himself as an intern at the Dark Horse Recording Studio, whilst working as a concessions attendant at the Franklin Theatre, working with artists like Yelawolf and Peter Keys. After 1.5 years interning, he was offered a job as a stagehand at the Franklin Theatre, and left the studio to focus on that job. Since then, he has been promoted 2 times, and now sits as the Technical Director at the Franklin Theatre. During his time at the theatre, he has worked with artists like Sheryl Crow, Lainey Wilson, Tim McGraw, Jelly Roll, Vince Gill, Megan Maroney, Jason Isbell, Martina McBride, Gary Levox, Kenny Loggins, Aaron Lewis, and many more.

During his time in Franklin, Brendan has played with artists such as Kaitlyn Killian, SEVY, Summer Belt, Saint Jacob, and Dusty Live. He has also performed live with artists such as Allison Bailey and Brian Logan Dales. He was also a member of Alt Metal band More Weight from 2023-2025. He also features as a musician and engineer for multiple videos on Massimo DiStefano's Youtube Channel.

Brendan started a podcast in 2023 with Massimo Distefano called "The Green Room Podcast", recorded and filmed at the Franklin Theatre. They have filmed 3 seasons, with guests such as Chad Gilbert(New Found Glory), Brian Logan Dales(The Summer Set), Cassadee Pope, Allison Bailey(Broadway Actress, in Wicked), and many more!
